Hi, i have a MK2 golf 1.6 driver 1990. Its been on and off the road for 3 years now and when starting it again i don't ever have a problem. when putting it back on the road this time after 3 months, i charged the battery and went for a drive. Once i stopped i went to start it again and i heard a small pop, as if it was coming from the fuse box. now when ever it turn the ignition the battery cuts out, also when i put my foot on the break or turn the head lights on the battery also cuts out. When i turn the heater or hazards on there is a ticking coming from the fuse box. any ideas what has happened and what i need to do to fix it? thanks

Is that 'relay number 30' or is that the 'number 30 slot' the relay goes into?

Bad power connection or bad earth from the battery to the body or engine is a possibility.
