Hi, just taken delivery of a B7 A4 S line multitronic but am surprised to find it has no cruise control! Is it possible for me to retrofit it? I assume I will have to get it activated at a dealership. I am a mechanic so the fitting shouldnt be a problem.

Cheers

scan address 16 and post the part number of the steering control unit
index R and Q support cruise option so you would only require the switch and lower cowling then change the code in steering control address 16 for cruise and enable cruise function in address 01 also before fitting check mvb in address 01 for brake switch and cruise switch operation as if these switches are faulty the cruise will not work and it will save you a lot of time knowing there operation condition. When you have the info post it

:1zhelp:Thanks for the quick reply. I am new to the Audi "scene" and to be honest i don't know how to get the info you are asking for:confused:. If you can give me some advice or point me in the right direction that would be most helpful.

Thanks

The software looks spot on but the cost of it is a bit too much for just doing one fitment. Perhaps my local dealer can activate it for me once I have fitted it.:o Can the software be purchased cheaper anywhere else?

I have a 2006 A4 3.2 Quattro Sport Cabriolet with MFSW and a 2005 A6 Avant 1.9 Tdi Sport (6) without DIS or MFSW...

Neither has cruise  and I'm looking to retrofit it in both cars.

Dealer has quoted £355 for the A4 cab and claims that it can't be fitted to the A6 Avant. (The A6 Avant has the drive by wire gas pedal.)

I've had a unsuccessful search around the forum. Apologies if I've overlooked any specific info.

Can anybody recommend a place to have it fitted in the Leeds area?.....

Or is it worth me buying the VCDS to do it myself?

Anybody able to tell me exactly which parts I'll need to DIY it?

TIA.:beerchug:

Simon.

Try this link to retrofit cruise control (and I would recommend the trip computer too!);

Thanks.:beerchug:

I've already got the OBC on the Cab - Mr Jacob's Creek and I will work out the cruise aspect from the link. :D

If it's gonna work out more (or similarly) cost effective to buy the VCDS and DIY both - it's the WTG.

Any local fitters or VCDS owners in the Leeds/Ilkley/Harrogate area?:beerchug:

Hey,

They should be paying me for how much I am pushing them around here but try these guys

http://www.vwcruise.com/

I used them and they were great! I think Cruise was around £200 when I did it plus the call out charge. BTW they will come to you anywhere in the UK I think (they are based in London). I bet they would come and do all the vagcom stuff if you fitted the parts for some price you agree too.

Cheers
