Mats in 2009 sline

Just pickerd up my 2.0 Sline and love it.

I did not ask for mats when negotiating however it comes with what looks like some Audi's fitted grey matting inside (i.e. seems to have a matt the same colour as the carpet). But these appear to show dust very quickly. What do others do - do they buy matts to fit on top with what is already there?

If so where do they purchase from?

Hi Nabs. I picked up my sline last winter and found the same so after a week i bought some audi rubber mats for it. i've never been a fan of rubber mats but the audi ones are fantastic the best purchase i made for the car. they fit perfectly and protect the carpet from muddy feet and i think they were only £50.00 for the set. so i put the rubber ones in in winter and the carpet ones in summer.

Mats are great but do you ever feel your just looking after the carpet for the next owner ????

Personally don't have an issue with the mats and not noticed them getting dusty. I give them a shake every now and again and hover maybe every 2 months.

Not sure why you would put mats on top of the existing mats - so you would have mats to protect the mats!!

Surely the idea of carpet mats is to protect the carpet underneath. If they get wrecked in a couple of years, you buy new ones- simple ;)

I got two sets with my S Line Exec, normal ones and one with silver stitching.

I was thinking about rubber mats.

Next youll be putting mats on top of your mats on top of your mats.

As long as the carpet undeneath is clean I think its OK to let the original mats get dirty. Nothing a good shake, vacum and spray with carpet cleaner wont put right.

Do you put carpet down on top of your carpet in your home!?:D

you could turn the mats upside down, that way it;ll protect the carpet and the top of the mat.

Got two sets of mats for mine. On my second set after five months of ownership....

I agree with the post that says your just looking after the carpet for the next owner !:aargh4:
