POLO 2000 - Electric window won't work

Hi - I have a VW Polo SDI (2000/w) and have an issue with the passenger electric window in that is doesnt wind down. I was told to replace the switches which I have done (both on the drivers side panel and passenger). But to no avail..I can hear a clicking sound when I press the button but no movement on the window.

Any ideas?? As I am struggling in the heat with only one functioning window!:mad:

the regulator needs replacing

i have just had the same problem on an identical vehicle. once the door card was removed a tap on the motor and it started to work. removed the motor unit and stripped it to find a dry joint on the circuit board. a quick resolder and all well again.

SAme thing occurred on my 2001 model. If you open the door and look where the hinges are there is a black tube which carries the wiring mine had split and. The wires frayed cutting Power to the window mechanism.
