Want to buy a A4 100bhp TDI

Hi, i'm new here and am thinking of buying a 2001-2002 A4 SE 100bhp by the end of the summer and was just wondering what common problems i should be looking out for and what should be the average price paid for one? Seen a few around the £3500 mark, is that good? Thanks in advance for the help!

Hi Evan,

I've had an 02 A4 1.9 100 for over two years now and have had no major problems with it, bar having to have the wiper spindles replaced. The brake switch sticks now and again but apart from that I've done 54,000 miles in it without it letting me down. It's on 104k now and still feels like new.

If you can push your budget a little further i`d go for a 130 ive had mine a while now and it does make a big diffence .I`d suggest you aleast test drove one to make a comparison.

I had a 130 Passat as a courtesy car a while back and it was faster. As Rollapig says though, it's down the budget. I've like faster car but I'm not that bothered about it, personally.
