Remove the glove box
Open lid of glove box.
Slacken off bolt of handle on lid side.
Pull handle out of glove box lid.
Press out pin and take out lock

Hi mr meeks, the hinges are completely shot on the old glove box.

I recently replaced lock on my glovebox. No need to remove the whole box for this job. I'll admit the access for the retaininmg screw on drivers side of glovebox door is akward to get at. I used a power drill bit holder with the torx bit in it and rotated it using a small spanner while applying pressure to the bit using a finger pusing pon end of bit holder. You can't see the screw so you are locating the torx into the screw blind but once there easy peasy. Of course taking the whole box out does give advantage of being able to lube hinges etc

No need to remove the whole box for this job.

Although it only takes 2 minutes to remove and about 5 minutes to re-fit. That's the time it would take me to find the bits required to do the job with the glove box in situ. :biglaugh:

Besides, I found it much easier to replace the lid with the whole thing removed and on the bench.

Horses for courses I guess.
