Clutch was changed last year with new flywheel our A4 1.9tdi 130SE Avant 2002/51 , long story and great expense. It has now started making a slight noise when pulling away, I would describe it like a faint squark noise lasting only a second, enough to be heard but not very loud. however if you heard it you might double take on it and if you heard it on a car you were looking to buy you'd probably be wary. Before I go back to the garage that fitted the clutch for any 'diagnosis and discussions', has anyone experienced this or have any ideas. Could it be the clutch groaning, ie plates internal springs squarking(?) or thurst bearing squealing on final release position - Please help. Mark.

Spooky. You've described exactly what I'm experiencing:

The best description of the noise I've heard is that it's like a Chewbacca moan ;) Like you, mine is happening on a clutch and flywheel that's only had about 8 months / 10,000 miles on it.
No diagnosis yet, but I'm certainly interested to hear if anyone has any more theories.

Good description, someone suggested the release bearing could be making a noise

Yep, that was the opinion of the head tech at the indie garage that looks after my car too. First problem is demonstrating the noise, because it's far from repeatable. But I'm hopeful that, since the clutch kit was genuine VAG, if it's the release bearing that's at fault it'll be covered under the 2 year parts warranty.
They're going to look at it in a couple of weeks when it's in for its MOT. I'll post back if there's any news then.
