GOLF Mk4 Stuck in Park

Hi anyone,

Ive got a Mk4 Golf Automatic

It is stuck in Park and i cannot get it to shift out.

can anyone offer advice on what to do please.

First check the brake light see if they work,then check fuse 11,For some reason i think the selector lever lock solenoid,is not functioning.

As kenny says, check the brake lights. It could be a duff brake pedal switch. This is needed to disengage the selector mechanism.
