Hello folks. I came across this forum whilst scouring the net for info on my new car which I'll be collecting on the 25th. I had to finally get rid of my Ford Puma 1.7 because we've now got two dogs and I just wasn't prepared to let them ride in the passenger compartment and dog guards for Puma's are non-existant. So...I've bought an '02 (51) plate Golf GT TDI 130 so we can all travel together. I know it's not going to handle like the Puma but it does at least seem to have plenty of grunt. Besides, I'm getting on a bit now and the Puma can be hard work when you're not in the mood, so to speak.
Anyway, hopefully joining here can enlighten me to some of the more important info regarding my Golf and if I can be of any help to anyone concerning any of my interests I'll do my very best.
Over & out...for now.

I too have recently taken delivery of a golf gt tdi 130. Best move i ever made, great all round car (if not a little lively round bends and traffic islands).

you'd complain if it wasn't lively.. :)
These are brilliant when they've been remapped....:beerchug:

Thanks for the welcomes folks. When I put down the deposit the salesman was telling me about some "plug-in" thing (elbow shaped) which he said increased power and reduced consumption - all for £35 off of Ebay! He says he uses one on his Audi A6 (same engine) and can vouch for it. Seems a bit sus to me but anyone know anything about this?

Hiya mate, they are cheap for a reason, they are cheap crap and will at the worst wreck your engine.
They just trick your engine into wanting more fuel, prob is they cannot alter anything else.
I would think that you spent a lot buying your car, dont spend a few quid on a little plastic elbow... have it done properly then at least you have a guarantee and it will be done right... :beerchug:

Sounds like good advice to me, thanks. I guess, as ever, if it looks too good to be true then it probably is. I wasn't really thinking of tuning the car anyway, to be honest. If I do anything it's more likely to be the suspension but I'll need to wait to get some miles in first and see what we're dealing with.
