When I switch my auto aircon off, I still get air coming through the vents, at the last temp setting. eg, warm air on a cold day.
Does anyone else have this problem?
Dealer has checked, and says it is ok. But says procedure to switch off is: set to auto, press the recirculate button, then off. But this does not work either.
thanks

I had a similar issue when i had my stereo replaced under warranty.
When i got the car back air was coming out of the vents when all off.
It turned out that the plugs on the back of the air con had come loose when they did the radio and it was staying on.
had a jiggle refitted and now all fine.
hope this helps although i suspect its a different issue

many thanks for the reply
interestingly I did have the radio replaced, not once but twice under warranty in the first 6 months
have asked the dealer to have another look, and will mention your 'fix'. but can you elaborate on your fix "had a jiggle refitted"

What was your radio issue - NO SOUND although lit up like a Xmas tree - mine was.
Well had a little jiggle!!!!!! - i took out the newly fitted radio, and pushed all the plugs in on the back of the air con, one was slightly out and moved when pushed. Re fitted the radio and all was fine.
It seems that when they pushed the radio into its no room for cables hole they caught the plugs on the back of the aircon.
HOWEVER - my issue was worse - the blower fan kept running with the key out!!!!!!!
How much air is coming out when its off - is it a draft or a good stream of air, it could be that the fan is staying on speed 1 when its off (similar issue to mine)

can't remember exact radio issue, i think it just went dead, with CDs stuck inside.
fan stops when key out
sometimes it feels like it is just a draft, but i have thought it feels like it is still on speed 1 when supposed to be off.
will have to wait and see what the dealer does

Mine does this- i thought that it was just ambient air flowing through, so if it was blowing cold on a cold day and i didnt want the air on i would turn the temp up to warm and then turn it off again to take the chill away...you could always close the air vents.

Was checked over by dealer, and it is working normally.
Apparently when you press the off button, it leaves a flap in position, so the air coming through is at the last set temperature. Pressing re-circulate before, reduceds the flow.
Essentially the off button is just a fan off, heater still at last temp setting button!
