Having an intermittent problem with a 2.6 1995 Coupe. The starter motor is fine but the engine sometimes will not fire, sometimes it will not fire when cold and sometimes when the engine is warm. It will either not fire at all or more recently it catches about once a second but will not run. Eventually it will run but after some time. Once it does fire, it runs normally and drives fine. There is a laserline after market immobiliser fitted which could be a source of problems but I wonder if there is a known cause out there. Help, it is driving me closer to our white coated friends... Any clues?

Suggest you look at your coil lead or spark plug lead/s. Had the same problem a number of years ago and found that the guy servicing my Audi didn't have the correct tool to remove them from the plugs and damaged them in the process. This caused exactly the problem you describe. Hope this helps

Hi, i am new to this forum, and i need some serious help..PLZ...I have an audi V6 coupe, 1994, having starting issues, i have done as much research as possble and advised from a few mechs, in fact several mechs advised on different parts...so i just decided to get the parts and as they were simple enough to fit, i fitted them myself...
the follwing parts were advised.. 1, CAM SENSOR, 2. COIL PACK, 3.IGNITIN MODULE..
after fittting all three parts - i am back to square one. apperently there is no spark and there was no spark pror to replacing the parts.
can someone please help me out here and advise me what i am missing, i am so bafffled with this .. the car was working perfect and suddenly this is the case now.

Hi Kenny, Good news, got the baby started today..... very pleased .. it was a vry simple fix...jacked the car up and noticed a sensor hanging loose.
and it turns out that it was the crank sensor...just could not figure initially where it was located...
thanks to all ..
