Hi guys,

i noticed this warning light came on constantly when i drive my 51 reg 2.0 Golf. Im not very mechanical savvy but i havent felt any performance decrease from the car at all. The car seems to drive normally and from my very basic visual checks i cant see anything obviously wrong. I do know when i had an MOT a few weeks back some welding had to be done to one of the brackets to keep it attached to the car.

Anyone got any ideas on what this could be? or where to start? or am i basically looking at a diagnostic to get the ball rolling. Also will the car be safe to drive?

Thanks for your help with this.

you will have too get the car fault scaned first, it could be a broken O2 sensor, that will put the light on, but it could also be a load of other things as well.

Car should be safe to drive. Only an exhaust sensor.

Thanks for the replies.

I'll try and find someone to do a diag. Anyone know anyone decent in Edinburgh? I've drove the car 140+ miles since the light came on and I def can't see any performance issues. Also is there an easy way to disconnect the sensor to test whether tht is the issue or not?
