annoying phone/ driver information quirk

Hi,
I can't be the only one who finds this annoying.

I like to drive with the info from the computer 1 showing in the driver info screen, however I've noticed that when someone calls me this changes to the phone menu (not nessesarily a problem), but when the call ends it doesn't return to the computer 1 screen which means that I need to press the mode button on the steering wheel a few times to get it back.

It's obviously not a huge issue but it is annoying. Why can't the car just go back to the way it was before the call? or maybe there's a setting somewhere that makes it do this?

I'm sure mine does go back to the info screen when the call ends and i've not done anything to it thats how it came out or the box. Have you phone prep high or low ?? mines low.

yep i know what you mean...same for if you answer or dial a number. It doesn't leave the phone book. Mostly annoying when someone's called you. It stays on the phone book rather than returning to the DIS like speed, comp/trip stats.

Guess you gotta keep your finger near the 'mode' button :D

Thats what i tried to say happens in my A4, your obviously far more educated than wot i am :D

Yep that's exactly it. Regardless of whether I've dialled, or recieved a call the DIS does not revert back to the setting that were showing pre-call.

Mine doesnt do this. After the call is ended it goes back to whatever i had up before hand.

Very strange, so the only other person that has this issue is tlionhart and he's got an A3 not an A4 :confused:

Tested it again on the way home tonight and it's definintely doing it. :(

did a lot of driving today and made and received a lot of calls. I noticed sometimes it was me. When searching through my phone book (in bluetooth mode) if someone called then the call was ended the screen would revert back to my phonebook/list.

It only covered over the radio section. Not my stats or speed. So i could drive and still see this. However i wouldn't be able to see what radio station or track i was on. Untill the call was ended. The call is only ended when the steering wheel, left scroll button was pushed. Then CALL ENDED was displayed. It then reverts back to the track/radio station.

I'm lead to believe the phone prep is linked with the cd player. Mines symphony and find all the info in the book. I would be surprised if it interferes with the statistics, digital speed display?

If i remember back to my dads A4, he got the new a4 when it just came out and i really liked the dash display. (had a previous a3, it displays in red) It was the first time i saw it in colour. Liked the fact it had the digital display, etc. Im sure its the same software version as the new a3. But i believe it's now been upgraded for the MY2010.

The DIS is broken into 3 parts: top is radio/tracks and temp, middle is stats, bottom gear changes. (A white line breaks them up. I know the new version is a red bar now. Think the A5 has it)
