Has anyone had any experience of Superchips or Revo for a remap on a Passat 140 TDi?
I have used Superchips before and can't really see past them (especially bluefin) in terms of product / service / quality but Revo are quoting a lot higher figures on their website albeit for the Golf Mk 5 2.0 TDi which they say is similar. Especially where torque is concerned it is a lot higher.
Superchips 34 BHP increase 48 lb/ft gain
Revo 45 BHP increase 53 lb/ft gain
Does anyone know if Revos figures stack up or whether they are a bit optimistic? I'm also concerned about putting to much strain on the engine which a large amount of torque would do.
Would like to know if anyone has looked in to it or has some experience.

I guess it depends if you would be comfortable with the extra 11bhp the Revo system delivers- I get the impression that perhaps you may have concerns about reliability and overall well-being of the engine (as I do also).
Just to make things even more complicated Aptuning supply a similar device to the bluefin which also gives a 35bhp increase - Personally I would love an extra 45, but would settle for 35 - because this seems to be the most common figure and more than anything it would be piece of mind from the assumption that 35 should be well within the scope of practical and safe.
I think it is important to note that my car is standard and I know very little about tuning or modern engines- The Revo unit is probably safe and hopefully someone on here who has the Revo upgrade will be able to advise more authoritatively.

How many miles has the turbo and clucth done ? there the weak pionts on the car..
if both are fine go for more power.. ha ha Remember its not just boost to get more power it could be better tuning. !
Were running an offer for £280 all in at the mo and will see a good 175-180hp..
Thanks Mike

Hiya mate, we remap these to give a 35bhp and 75nm more power and torque with a guaranteed fuel saving..:beerchug:
I am thinking of getting my Passat 140 TDI remapped. The flywheel and clutch kit were replaced by me in August 2010. What is the current price from Revo?

I'm looking at exactly the same thing on my 140 tdi passat.
Although my car is now on 94K miles on the original turbo and clutch... Would it be stupid for me to increase power without getting these vital elements replaced first?
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks

Mines done 96k, has original clutch and flywheel. Had a Revo map on for a while now with no problems...........well worth the extra hoof !!
Expecting to have to change the clutch as some stage anyway !
My initials plan were, to get it remapped from AMP (hence wishlist) but I had heard some bad reviews from APR, so I am going to get it remapped soon from Revo :)

Mines touching 185bhp with the Revo map. Would be interesting to take it further but then reliability steps in, would be fun though :approve:

How much torque is your Passat producing? Is that the exact BHP?
