Hi i have a mk4 golf gti 1.8 20v 2001 car but i had a full service a week ago and a turbo gasket seal and over the weekend i found a strange noise and then the car took for overheating i thought it was my starter motor as it was dodgey since i brought it 2 year ago so i replaced it and it never cured the problem? so i then recovered it to my mechanic who advised me it could be the bucket value as they heard the noise i was on about! but then i contacted vw as i wanted to know the price of these values which was nearly £1100 for all 20 so i described the falut and they have suggessted the water pump bearing as this does cause overheating as the water is not circulating through the engine at speed/distance but when stantionary it is 100% so can anybody else advise plz thanks
