Could anyone out there point me in the right direction on how to remove the rear light cluster on a 2005 A6 2.0 TDI saloon.
water seems to have got into one of the clusters and has steamed up the lens...
many thanks in advance,,,

Its covered in the owners manual, remove the inner screw and easy away from the rear wing and the cluster comes off in one.Remove the bulb holder and drain the water then use a hairdryer to remove the moisture, check the bulb holder seal and renew if crushed, try not to use a steam cleaner on the rear lights

Anyway...

Move back boot trim from next to the light cluster, undo bolt.

Remove plastic cover from around light cluster (part that faces tailgate)

Pry light unit rearward away from rear quarter - try not to damage light or cluster - use plastic trim tool if you have one!

Would of been so much simpler if those pictures would of copied....

I wouldn't touch that car unless it has a proper pump recon as i bet you have lost some time on that

Yeah lost time on it....

....tough one to call when the customer has had it repaired considering the money involved with a pump! Will check those mvb's tomorrow and post up what happens

Sometimes you loose on a job, not a problem as long as it doesn't become too frequent and if the customer feels you've treated them fair they come back and tell their friends.

agree as long as you get repeat business and good feedback to a difficult intermittent fault
