Hi all,

I'm a Scottish expat living in Calgary, Canada.
I sold my Audi 90 a couple of years ago, and now run a 94 2 litre Golf as my dailly driver.
Just clocked up 200,000 kms on it, trouble free for the most part !
Although you UK guys would not beleive the amount of ROCK chips we have to deal with here.
I Do have a bit of a dilemma though, new non VW/Audi car coming to me this month, and I won't need the Golf any more, but I have space to keep it and wonder if it's worth doing something with it?
I was thinking something like an autotest setup on it would be worth doing?
Any thoughts or comments greatly appreciated.

http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/images/icons/icon7.gif Hi, We went to Canada for the first time this January, usual tourist haunts of Banff & Lake Louise, although we don't ski still had a great time.
Anyway if you've got the space and are not needing it as a daily drive anymore you could start yourself a project car in whichever direction you wanted, track day car, pimped out ride or street sleeper?http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/images/icons/icon7.gif

Thanks everyone !

I think I'll be selling the MK3 and pickup something a bit older for a fun project.
I'll post what I find.

Should be a fun project !
Going in for Paint in June, and will try to get all the other little mechanicals done by then.
Look out for it on the road proper by about the start of August.

Good choice! The MK1 is a great car to play with. I'd want to put the euro grill and lights on it though, I hate the NA ones!

stulec52,
From one new member to another Hi. Really envious of you having moved to Calgary, We have only just discovered it in the last few years after ski-ing holidays. Are there any drawbacks to having moved out there? are the locals friendly to outsiders?

Regards

Alan
