Stumbled upon this on ebay.

I know I should probably convert to a Weber, but as its very close to where I live, costs considerably less, and would mean still having an auto choke (swmbo drives it a lot and has never driven a manual choke car) as it appears they refurbish the actual carb on your car.
What do you guys think? Actually seems very professional in my opinion.

the Pierburg is alot of trouble i would think long and hard before you get another one of them.
manual choke for me has always proved so much better over auto choke.
won't take you long to get use to it.

After getting a phone call from the guy I had obviously mis-read the location as he was in Herefordshire, not Hertfordshire. Oops! So my only way of doing things would be for me to either rip my carb out, send it to him, he refurbs it, sends it back and I have to re-fit it. That means being without the car for a week or so plus the cost of posting the carb and the cost of both removing and fitting the new one on seperate occasions.. Nuts.
The other option is to get a pre-refurbed carb from him, take mine off and fit the new one straight away and post mine to him once removed. That incurs a £40 surplus fee (which is returned when he receives it) and the cost of postage. So all in all, over the £200 quoted.
I think I'll play safe and go for a Weber. Increased performance too :D (if my car can handle it!!?!???) :o
