I used to have TomTom on my phone and had a proper car-kit. Circumstances have changed and I've now bought a TomTom 'One'
I can't stand the though of it stuck to my windcreen and leaving the ring marks when I remove it!
Has anyone else got photos of TomTom's mounted elsewhere on their Passat?
I'm after a mount that will clip it to my existing car kit mount that's to the left of the centre console if all else fails!

Cheers

Have you tried one of these friction mounts?

My wife's got on for her Garmin and it's great. No marks on the windscreen to clear up and easy to detach the unit and pop the mount under the front seat when leaving the car.

I have used Brodit Pro-clips in several cars. www.brodit.com (http://www.brodit.com). You need at least two components depending on the flexibility required. The clip which fits solidly but non-damagely to the car and the mount which holds the device and a means of mating them which may be just four supplied screws for permanence or something more flexible. I use a Change-clip between the two components to enable easy switching between vehicles. Brodit's site shows all the options and fitting instructions. There are about five different clips for the Passat and several mounts for the Tom-Tom One.

I use a clip over the centre air vents and a passive mount for a Tom-Tom One XL which means you need a Tom-Tom charger for the cig.lighter. Active mounts incorporate charging circuitry.

I bought some adhesive discs that stuck on the phone mount of my Golf and the radio surround of my wife's Astra. Cost about £3.00 for the two and are removable. The Tom Tom standard sucker fixes to these perfectly well.

I have a Tom Tom 720, I bought a Brodit Proclip for the centre vent, cut the sucker bit off the screen mount, drilled it through the centre and fastened it to the proclip with a small nut and bolt with a bit of plastic glue for good measure....solid no shakes....:beerchug:

gamichea - Is there anywhere in the UK where it can be bought over the counter - Brodit won't post.

I've seen some on ebay UK, but not ebay France (there's a German site that doesn't do them for VWs!!), and the UK site won't post to France.

I'm in the UK next week, so failing everything I'll get one posted to my destination there.

Quatrelle - most UK suppliers only carry stock for the most popular cars and need to order in from Sweden.

For clips and most other Brodit www.gpsforless.co.uk (http://www.gpsforless.co.uk) (aka Ultimate Addons) have always been good for me and they will post to the EU.

There are a number of UK suppliers which a quick Google for the bit(s) you want will identify for you.
