B8 Heated Side Mirrors

It appears that my Australian delivered MY09 B8 does not have heated side mirrors.

Dealer confirmed it.

Is there any B8 owners that actually have heated side mirrors on their B8s.

I do not remember seeing any option that referred at heated side mirrors

I am a little disappointed that they are not standard, as even my sister's based model MY00 Golf has heated mirrors.

Having said the above, what are my chances of getting the heating component retrofited?

In the UK heated mirrors are standard, you turn them on via the mirror adjustment control.

I have heated mirrors on my early B8 Avant. It needed to be specified on my order.

But.. Australia... Heated Mirrors.

Excuse my ignorance, but isn't ALL of Australia super hot and you don't *really* get frost.... do you?

In Australia, they come in a package with memory seats. Shouldn't be too hard to retrofit.

Why on earth do car manufacturers have so many different "standard" models across their markets. Im sure if they kept everything the same it would be cheaper for them to make these cars.

However, I guess in Australia these heated mirrors might be used much so I guess it does make sense not to add them as standard.
