jop, i hope you enjoy your new car.
i envy you, and make no mistake about it,would buy an A5 tomorrow if i could afford it.
i don't blame you in the least.
i would love to have a new car, even if it was just to choose the colour!!!
i really hope you enjoy it you lucky so and so!!!
however, you are not really "forced to hear the opinions of the poor".
1,--you don't have to click on their threads or posts.
2,--their are a lot of people out there who could well afford to buy a new car but consider the loss in vat(as soon as you put the key in),and the depreciation over the first two -three years, better kept for other things.
they aren't necessarily"poor".
regards,
stewy.

Perhaps more worryingly, some of the more recent cars aren't necessarily more/as reliable than the previous models.

How much does the subscription cost for Audi magazine, £5000 a year:p:p (based on deprecation rates).
I am envious of the new car purchases, the choice, no ones washed it with a wire brush scratches etc, but i do have one Question who has bought their car and who rents the car?
(runs for cover):p:p:p

And if everyone bought a used car and none bought new, there would be no new used car stock filtering down for those of us less well able to afford to buy new so the value of used cars would go up and up until they were no longer a bargain and then because no new cars were being made the manufacturer would go bust so no spares etc etc, there is a place for everyone, let them make their own minds up rather than forcing ones opinion on to others.

Sorry no :D- why spend 18k or something you can pick up for a fraction of that right now and looks better.
Buying a new B8 no problems, a new B7 clone which in turn is rebodied B6 no chance.

I'm one of the lucky ones who has it bought for them ( although pays a small fortune to the chancelor ) however rest assured if it was my own money i'd be waiting 12 months for a used one. but then if i didn't have to worry about company car tax i'd be looking at something more exotic than an A4.

Since to drive a car you have to be 17 then surely that makes us all adults.
As adults we have life choices to make. Not all of us have the same priorities. Not all of us will agree on what we order e.g. car model, colour, age etc.
It would be a boring world if we did. I certainly don't see the point in trying to justify you decisions and convince others about your choices.
Just be happy with your own choices :beerchug:

No right or wrong answers here. I have had both used and new cars over the years and there were valid arguments for both on every occasion...ignoring the fact that painted lumps of metal and plastic that are obsolete almost as soon as you buy them are never an investment to start with!:biglaugh: The heart often overrules the brain.
Everyone has different needs, requirements and priorities so let's not criticise those in either camp.
