A4 3.0 TDI Quattro clutch problems

hi can anyone help me, i have the above Audi. on Sunday the car started to judder in 1st gear and smell like the clutch was burning.

ive been to the main dealer and they have advised that i need a new flywheel and clutch. They also advised that the clutch sometimes get heat spots on it.

Firstly can anyone advise if this has happend to them and also if they know where i could obtain reproduction parts from as places like GSF have advised that they dont stock the parts.

Just had a similar problem with my Audi Avant A4 - new clutch & flywheel required - an expensive job,gonna cost me £1,300 just so you know the ballpark fig.It seems this is not an unusual problem and because the flywheel is b***er to get to is one of reasons for the cost.
