Hi, first post. The fuel lines on my 1991 S2 are rotten. I can't imagine trying to fit an OE part with all those bends, so does anyone have any ideas as to replacements? I'm going down the path of braided hoses, but I'm not entirely sure where to start. Can anyone help? Cheers, Simon.

Originals are a complete nightmare to fit, rack off, ripped arms, skinned knuckles-horrid job. Plastic is a great idea but it is having anti crush metal inserts fitted which is a problem. Garages like myself have special tools that grab the line and push inserts into a warmed plastic hose but it is not as simple as it may sound, the tool cost hundreds of pounds. New original lines cost less than £100 for the pair but as I said, evil like sods to install.

Hi,
If you want braided hose, have a look at the Pirtek Automotive hose catalogue, needs to be downloaded from here:
http://www.pirtek.co.uk/pirtek-products/catalogue/Catalogue-content/automotive-hose-and-couplings.aspx
Other than what has already been suggested, some owners use stainless microbore heating tube from a plumbers merchant, it can be spliced in with fuel hose and clips or you could get it flared and install as the originals are?
