Being an absolute novice in car modifications, I just want to get a sense from the pros here about what you've changed/modified to your B8s. Would be good to know what brand you opted for as well (I have no idea!).

For me, I've upgraded to 19"s, and installed sprint & tuning boosters thus far. But given I think I've caught the mod bug so itching to plan my next step. (air filters, exhaust, suspension, body kit, brakes, noise insulation and the list goes on......)

Thanks in advance.

I actually thought that was worthy of the Edinburgh Fringe. :biglaugh:

Seriously though- I am going to hazard a guess that most B8 owners on here are company or lease owners, and a remap is going to be as far as modding is going to go.

Wait till B8 is a bit older and more 2nd hand owners come on board then things will get interesting.

What have I done to my A4?

Reversed it into a post in a car park and managed to get a massive stone chip on the bonnet

The other issue that many street mods will also invalidate the 2 year Audi warranty. So I agree with kodkod, you won't see many owners applying much in the mod world for a while yet, apart from roof racks, towbars and dog guards
:D

I doesn't work like that. Your warranty (3 years in the UK if serviced at a dealer) will remain valid unless the cause of an issue is demonstrated to be due to the mod. Even then the mod will only exclude related parts from the warranty and doesn't affect the rest of the warranty.

Yes, what you are saying makes sense.
The time limit I quoted is how the warranty affects me.
Audi warranty has restrictions and is 1 year unlimited, capped at 60000 in year 2 and capped at 50000 in year 3.
So for me as a high mileage user at 30k / year I get a 2 year warranty. However I have budgeted for this, and will extend the warranty as I did on my A6.

i've filled mine up with diesel every 5-600 miles. A litre of oil, and the odd wash. Thats as much as it going to get!

To be honest I dont subscribe to the aftermarket modifications thing. Most people make a hash of it and ruin a perfectly good car by making it look stupid

Mine just gets the diesel every 5-600 miles and a wash per week. Have not had to put one drop of oil in (now 5k on the clock 143ps tdi.) I am with you on the mods though Richard.

I think the S Line looks good as it is, no external mods (bodykit) required. I would be interested in the Rear LED Lights!

My preference for modding would be under the bonnet......but there comes a point where you have got to say, why did I just not buy the S4!!

I have seen some gastly bodykits added!

I put the SS trims on the exhausts, and lifted the engine from 170 to 210 bhp... on a more radical note I have ajusted the windscreen washer jets.. well pimped:biglaugh:

Next mod adding water to the washer bottle! working upto that one...

I was thinking about adjusting the rear washer jets, do you need a proper Audi tool??

The misses used a largish needle (I'm not allowed sharp objects) which did the job just fine. Was gona look at the rear, but nerves were shot after such a major upgrade.. ;)

Oil light came on after about 15k if memory serves. My last VAG car (VW Bora) used to drink oil for fun. A litre every 5k!

I've actually got plans to do some minor modification this afternoon....Removing the crap that a flying cow decided to drop on it. Its set like concrete!
