S4 Buying Tips

I am looking to buy my first Audi in the coming weeks and have decided on an S4 (B6) I have a few to look at this weekend and all sound OK although I am NO expert on Audi's let alone 4.2 V8 S4's !!

Does anyone have any tips when I look at these cars ? I've bought many 2nd cars before so I'm not looking for general advice but more specific advice on this vehicle, especially on the engine.

What is the recommended cam belt change period ?

Ok so after some searching I've learnt my first S4 4.2 V8 fact, it doesn't have a cam belt :banghead: but it does have a chain...

This will be my first question that I ask when seeing these cars in the coming days.

But same question, when should the chain be replaced ?
