Ok i own a 2004 Audi B6 A4 Avant 1.9 TDI Quattro and i love it,so what do you think about your current A4 and which model is the best.
I have worked on all of the Variants of the A4 and the B6 stands out the best to me for reliability the B8 for looks and new technology and the B7 for blowing 2.0 tdi engines and dpf issues ha ha.I must add i still love the look of the B7 S line Avant and of course the best of all is the B7 Rs4 Avant stunning in every way but for the problematic DRC suspension.I'm spoiled because i work on these cars every day and it a pleasure to do so but you own them so what is your favorite and why?

I have owned 2 B7 Avants- 1.9TDI 115ps SE (great economy) and currently 2.0TFSI 220ps S-Line (great fun)

Love the B7 looks with the double rear lights, the B6 a little too conservative but still smart.

B8 still out of my price range, and I think the saloon looks as good as the avant now.

A4 is Audi most important vehicle as this makes the money to fund the likes of the R8 and Rs6,the saloon indeed now holds its own in the looks department and the TFSI is fantastic revving engine, today i repaired a TTS AND THAT FLEW but not like the mad as hatter Rs6 whoop whoop

I have had my B6 for around 4yrs now and still think it the bee's knees.
2.5 TDI QS 180 BHP chipped to 220, all manner of options fitted.
The wife has a 225TTC, which is a hoot to drive on weekends.
My daughter has an A3 2.0TDI sport which goes quite well.
I have no reason to change from my B6 as nothing goes wrong......*touches wood*

I loved my 1600 B5!! Granted it was in exceptional condition, and you see quite a few tatty ones round now. I'm slightly biased towards the B7, as I've got one. The B8 I thought was stuning when it first cae out, but Im slightly starting to go off them now ( dont get me wrong, if one came along at a good price I'd snap it up!!) I see the B6 as more of a facelift from the B5, very similar front, but with the new syle interior. The thing I like most about the B7 is the lights, cracking shape! The S-lines look the mutt's nuts, and unfortunatly mine isnt one, but we cant have everything!

B6 Cabriolet (2003) all the way, hated it at first but then replaced the MAF and the air filter and it goes great (2.4 - I know but there are very few 3.0 in Ireland )

Have done loads of mods - currently bringing it from lowline to high line spec, and I must say it is very easy to work with. Vagcom is great for this.

Walter.

A4 Cabriolet 2003 B6, mods done: DIS, Cruise control, DNX7200 sat nav, Infinity speakers, smarttop, heated seats, headrest tv screens, interior light pack, HID Xenon lights, RS4 Arb, Coolerbox, in process: Tyre pressure system, auto levelling lights, B7 LED rear lights, Auto lights, auto dimming mirrors, auto folding mirrors...

I thought the best A4 was in fact an A6 or even a Passat, but I would say that.

They are a bit small.

passat owner said to me in the pub on saturday, he loves his passat b5 shape, partly because it is the same as his older a4, no it isnt, its an a6!! been in a newer a4, someone on here and it felt cramped compared to my passat, i presume you dont know till you drive them all but just sitting in an a4 i'd hate to go to a smaller car again, unless it had 2 seats, a 4agze engine and was mint, fresh from the docks.

golf estate = A4 Avant
jetta = A4 saloon
passat estate = A6 Avant
passat saloon = A6 saloon
passat cc = A5

My prefered A4 varient is the B7 Avant sline.

I prefer the big grill version as is the current trend, so i'd have a royal blue or silver 54 to 57 plate A4 Avant S-line with Rs6 alloys as pictured on the red one earlier^^^^^ with 2.7 or 3.0 TDI Quattro. undecided as to the choice of gearbox.

The 2.0 tdi is crap and the 2.5 B6 suffers from pump failure and turbo failure as well as the multitronic issue.
You mean 2.7/3.0 tdi B7 or 2.0 tfsi these are the best B7 options as well as the RS4 but this suffers with to many drc issues.I would rather walk than drive a 2.0 diesel, well you will be walking because there a vw platform engine so they breakdown all the time like VW pushats.Audi use different components in most of there engines, like the R8 isn't the same as the lambo it borrows but modify's for Audi platform.
Thank god the 2.0 pd engine has finished and we can get back to a reliable engine ,the new common rail is a winner like the good old 1.9 pd unit
