I tried to take out the child seat this evening, in the dark! and the seatbelt will not release, I do not have any slack to remove the kiddie seat or to release the "ratchet". I have tried the smooth pull technique and the lose your rag blue faced monster strength- obviously didnt work,
my point- is there a technique, button or secret mechanism or do I have to start taking off trim and mess about?
The child seat is now too tight to remove or replace.
Help please, the little one likes her car!!!! And the missus wants a sofa from IKEA

i have the same car and once the ratchet has initially engaged the only way to release it is for the belt to retract fully. can you not unclip the seat belt buckle then un wrap from child seat.

Many thanks with the help of my friend we managed to unwrap the belt from the child seat, I had uncliped it and there was not enough slack. The seatbelt now functions correctly.
Lesson learned, make sure you unthread the child seat first, this will leave enough slack, a very simple task made difficult by a design fault in my eyes, readers beware!!
