Hi All,

First time poster!

Wonder if you could spare a moment to answer a few questions i have.

I have chosen to get the A4 S line executive model and have a few question regarding extras i am choosing.

1) As standard the brochure says that it comes with the Xenon headlights with the LED daytime running lights? Are they the random "S" shaped LED dots!?:D

2) I'm looking to get the Bang & Olufsen system, however i want something that will integrate with my iPod. Does this unit integrate with the iPod or is that just the AMI option?

And finally!

What do we all think of the car in general!

Sorry for all the questions!

Thanks

Matt:D

Hi there,

1. Yes they are!

2. The B&O is an amp and speaker upgrade only, there is an Aux socket in the armrest that you can connect your ipod to, but obviously you can't control it, the AMI interface will allow you to control the ipod from the stereo or steering wheel. I think you also get a cable with AMI that will allow you connect a USB drive also.

You won't be disappointed with your choice, I've had mine 5 weeks now and I love it.

Thanks for the answers eyestar! >:o)

Do you know if you have have the AMI as well as the B&O if it is just an amp/speaker upgrade?

Also!

Does the car come standard with the ability to disable the passenger airbag? I've a child on the way!

The B&O is just a speaker and amp upgrade, the AMI is completely separate to this and is a pocket with a connector in the glove box where you can store the ipod.

Does that make sense?

Sorry.

Yes again in the glove box there is a switch operated by the key that will disable the passenger airbag.

Thats great news and a big glove box :)

How are for boot size? room for a pram!

It's not the biggest glove box in the world but it's OK. If you want a light in it you'll have to spec the interior light pack mind ;)

Yeah you'll get a pram in the boot as long as the pram isn't a monster and folds fairly flat.

There are few threads about options you can read if you want, it may help you. The B&O is unbelievably good especially if you spend quite some time in there.

I strongly recommend you don't deactivate the front airbag. That would mean your kiddy is in a rear facing seat in the front.

It's far safer to put the reat facing seat in the rear. :beerchug:

p.s. I added rear airbags for more peace of mind for the little 'uns. ;)

p.p.s. The brochure says you get chrome exhaust tips on the S-line. You don't. You just get some big steel ones. They're 80mm so trying to get chrome covers is turning out to be a nightmare.

I might be forced to buy a Milltek ;)

I think the first sentance is clearer if I say :

I recommend you don't have your kiddy is in a rear facing seat in the front and hence need to deactivate the front airbag. It's simply not as safe for little 'uns in the front compared with in the rear. Additionally, in the front you will be tempted to tend to them and hence get distracted from driving.

Hi Scotty! Thanks for the advice! As a new father to be it's good to get tips! Ideally i will have the baby in the back with the wife, however should i be driving a long with the baby would you recommend have the bag off whilst the baby is in the front with me?

500% YES !!!

There have been too many fatalities with front airbags going off with babies in rear facing front seats.

That's why it's there. If you ever put your baby in a rear facing seat in the front you MUST turn the air bag off !

Sorry if my previous post led to any confusion. :o

sorry to hijack the thread, but does AMI come with the ipod lead or do you need to get it seperate?

ScottyUK

It didn't used to but now you get an iPod lead and also a USB lead as part of the price.

.... course the price of the option went up to take this into account!
