I got a flat :(
I noticed it at home, it was really flat.

Anyway... I have the standard SLine alloy. The bolts have some plastic caps over to finish it off. In the manual there is no mention of these type of caps, only a 5/star hubcap that it shows you how to remove with a funny pin type thing.

In the toolbox there was no tool for removing these caps. I know the type of tool as I had them on my old A3, its like an oversized pair of tweezers.

Not only was there no tool, but there was also no space in the toolbox to hold the tool. so I'm wondering If im even supposed to have one.
I have B&o, because of this I think the toolbox is also located in a different space than in the manual. I have an subwoofer in the cavity in with my spare wheel and the tool box is under another panel the boot.

Maybe, Sline with B&o means you dont get a space to put the required tool to remove the caps. (???)

I ended up using a screwdriver and levering them off against the alloy. unfortunately this slightly damaged the wheel :zx11:

Also... the wheel was on tough!!!! after removing all bolts I still couldn't get the wheel off. I called Audi/RAC who advised me to put three bolts back in, lower the car back to the ground and remove the jack, open the door and rock the car like a crazy man - Which worked.
The idea is to break off the corrosion between the alloy wheel and the wheel mount. - This, i was reassured, is a property of alloy wheels and not specific to audi's

I've not been through it on the B8, bit I think the tool may be disguised as a screw driver handle.

Some cars have this and you simply push it over the caps and then pull. The theory is the cap slides off the nut before the handle comes off the nut.

I did noticed something in the tool kit like big tweezers but I guess that could be a fuse insertion tool....although that's normally in the fuse box.

If no else confirms in the next 24 hours, I'll have a look when I get home from work tomorrow.

There's a plastic clip about 3 or 4 inches long that you should use to pull them off - sounds like what you describe in your A3. In mine this is in the separate tool compartment under the boot floor.

On my S-line the tool was clipped onto the jack.

Thanks KB, evidently they forgot mine.

The puncture was near the outer wall, legally it cant be repaired.

£247 for a replacement tyre!!!!! Holy punctured tyre batman!!!

That's for a like for like replacement!! I just cant bring myself to have an odd tread even if it does save me 100 quid.

Did anyone buy the tyre insurance from Audi?

IIRC it was around £295 for 3 years.

Does that cover punctures/blowouts etc. if so sounds a bargain looking at the cost of Jops tyre- that is a 19" tyre right?

It doesn't cover repairs. It does cover any time you need a new tyre. Not sure about wear and tear.

You can take it out up to 30 days after buying the car.

Not bad a Dunlop Sport Maxx GT 19" cost me £275 when I got a puncture on my A4 :(

Ouch, thats a lot of money .
Not sure that this is going to help you (sorry)but it may help others.

I took out a tyre insurance through the dealer when I bought my car in Sept 08. It cost £200 and is underwritten by london General Insurance based in Egham Surrey.
It covers the 5 tyres on the car during the first three years of ownership including accidental damage, punctures or malicious damage so long as crime number etc

Seems like a good deal to me particularly if you are going to have to pay out this price for the tyre. Having read again tonight I think that you can take it out anytime so long as at least 4mm tread on the tyres.
I have tried to attach the word doc for info but without luck but happy to answer any other questions or post more info if needed.
regards.
