Replace Windscreen

I need to replace windscreen, have been quoted for 170 but w/o rain sensor.
What I am confused is that I thought that rain sensor is inside the car (little plastic thing) not on the windscreen ? If I will decide not to buy with a rain sensor is it gona affect how my wipers works, they gona stop working or what?
To tell you the truth this rain sensor was pain in the *** anyways...

Maybe the tinted strip gradient goes further down the screen? See how it looks on other ones in a carpark or on the road. The black disk is a filter and this is a separate part which clings on the glass.

cheers for that, what would be helpful is info if I can replace with one w/o a sensor cuz I didn't like it anyways so I do not realy need it.
