You do not have to remove the bumper to change the sensor if it is a factory fit one, well at least not on the saloon anyway. If you crawl underneath, you can put your hand up to the back of the sensor. There are two plastic tabs that hold the sensor in place, apply light pressure to these using your finger to push them outwards and then the whole sensor will push from the outside of the bumper inwards (i.e. towards the front of the car). To remove the wiring plug, you need to place a small flat bladed screwdriver at the side of the plug to lift the locking tab out (shine a light on it and you will see what I mean), the plug then just slides off. I changed one of my sensors recently and it was fairly straightforward after working out how to get the wiring plug off, it helps to shine a torch behind the bumper to see what you are doing.
Hope this helps!

However if you do need to remove the bumper it's straightforward.
Go all around the sides and bottom releasing all the fixings/screws that you can find, then there are 2 screws in the corner of the rear light clusters next to the boot opening. Then slide the bumper back carefully, having put something soft on the ground for it to rest on.
HTH :D
