gearbox oil take 2

iv had a problem i mentioned before about my gearbox and sounding like its runing without enughf oil , eniway, the plug to fill the gearbox oil is sized up and the bit you fit the tool in is prity nakerd, question is can you fill the gearbox via the breather pipe, or is their some other way of filling it with oil?

Probably best to persevere with the filling plug, how else would you check the level? If it is a lost cause you might get oil in there by removing a sensor/switch or even a driveshaft?!!
