Tire confusion

I've got a Mk4 Golf. I need new tyres and the websites I have visited have suggested either 195/65R15 or 205/55R16 . I've just checked the current ones on my car and they are 175/80R14.
Should I go with the suggestion or what is currently on my car? I don't know anything about them, so don't know whether my current ones are the wrong size or what, so any help would be fantastic please!

The last number corresponds to the wheel diameter so if you have 14 inch wheels you obviously cant fit tyres for 15 or 16 inch wheels cos they will fall off. :biglaugh:

Stick if the matching ones to what you have on as the others won't fit your wheels.
