leak in boot

Hello, could anybody possibly help. I have a 52 plate 1.9 tdi Passat.
In the boot you have two "storage areas/recess area" where the jack etc can be stored.
I have noticed that the carpet in the drivers side is wet and i cant find where any possible leak could be coming from. The rest of the carpet in the boot is dry as is the area where the spare wheel is kept.
Anybody had this problem / got any ideas to rectify?

Is it an estate? If so, the window washer pipe joint can leak near the CD changer behind the left hand light cluster..

If it's a saloon, check the seals around the rear lights.
