Where's the fuel sender

Hi!

I am having erratic issues with my fuel gauge and want to check the sender until but am unsure what it looks like and where to locate it ?

1) Is it the old style ball ****/cistern type
2) How do you get at it...is it via the boot or under the back seat etc ?

if you have a b4, then the fuel sender is under the boot floor. there is a metal panel you unbolt to get to it. chances are though that it is the voltage regulator that is causing the problem. this is on the rear of the dash panel, and will probably have a dry joint. does your temp guage work properly?, as the two are connected.

Also try the terminals on the back of the fuel gauge, dab them with a little WD40! That fixed mine!
