mk3 golf gti fuel guage
hi,my mk3 golf gti 8v 1997 agg fuel guage is very irratic,if you go up a steep hill or down a steep incline the guage can go from half a tank to above the red then slowly after time creeps back up but it doesnt always play up and the rest of the dash is not affected.I have changed the dash twice but with second hand units and these do practically the same fault.I have replaced the fuel sender (genuine new) and replaced the wires from the sender to the fuse box,then because that didnt help i have wired complete new wires from the sender to the dash bypassing the fuse box and giving the sender a good body earth(front to rear) but still have the fault,is it possible that the sender could be sticking or catching inside the tank?,please advise of any known issues
