Help!
I've lost my only set of car keys. I obviosuly can't get in my car. All my valuables and wallet are in there.
The car is stuck at work. My questions are;
1. Will the AA be able to recover it considering i have no keys (steering lock is on and its locked).
2. I don't have any spared keys, will i need to replaces all the locks and ignition barrel and remote key fob? Or can Audi reprogamme me one? How much is this all likely to cost?
Thanks in advance- any input appreciated.

Possibly it could be recoved somehow, most likely on a flat bed I would have thought. It depends if they can drag it, seen as its most likely the handbrake is on!
And I would have thought you could go to Audi proving ownership of the car, and they could use their GEKO system to code you a new key (or two ;)).
I had the Skoda recovered on a flat bed, although it did drive long enough to put it on, and the handbrake was not on! It cost about £110 to be recovered from Derby to my house near Stockport, although I can't remember who recovered it!
The key(s) will be in excess of £100, they will code it to the barrel, remote and immobiliser.
Somebody may correct me but I see no way why Audi couldn't just sort you a new key.

Hi Paul, thanks for the response.
I searched the internet and came up with a post off here;

The key is VERY lost - - I'm a rower and lost it during the course of an outing following a bit of a mishap and a wet encounter!! - It's "four fathoms deep".
After three days on a very steep learning curve I seem to be almost out of the predicament - but for any others out there following this thread I have a few findings which may be of help.
1. Your main VW dealership will be worse than useless- mine didn't really want to know and referred me to the AA and RAC.
2.TIMPSON Auto Locksmith Register 0800 0187 187 keep a national list of qualified and bona fide Auto Locksmiths. You will need one!! - they are the first port of call of the RAC and AA for VW and Audi cars.
3. These guys know their stuff and whilst not cheap are a FRACTION of the price of main dealers. The one I contacted got into a deadlocked 2001 Pasatt in about 35 mins (£60)- a feat which VW said was impossible. He will also disassemble the lock barrel which he can remove - use his computer to detect the Passat's PIN number so that he can then cut and code new keys to that existing lock. (less than £150 total)
VW's option was to break a window (£30 for glass - £80 to fit), take out all the locks and refit new (£50 per lock , 4 hrs @ £75 +VAT)- nice total of over £500 as keys were extra!!!!!
Interestingly - lost keys are not covered by your insurance except in special circumstances.
Is it true that VW/Audi cannot open the car and programme a key themselves? If so it looks like an Auto lock smith is my best option.
I am going to ring around the local police stations tomorrow, in the hope they have been handed in. Failing that, I think i'll give the Auto lock smith a ring..

It is probably true that they won't open the car like an auto locksmith probably would. Obviously they wouldn't want to be seen bypassing their own deadlocks! If you contacted them they would most likely use the smash-a-window technique.
