September. As usual I frequented a little bar about 20 yards from the hotel I stay at. Been going there for years and know the guy who owns the place very well now. It’s not a seedy pick up bar, you just get a few locals and the English / American / Canadian visitors who are staying at the hotel.

I have seen the girl in question several times last year and never took any notice of her. She comes in with three local Taiwanese guys who I know pretty well and one it turns out is her brother. The only time I recall ever having an interest in her was one evening a few months before when she passed out drunk at one of the tables and I advised someone to go shake her in case she was dead!!

So, Wednesday evening I am in the bar with several people from my supplier, one being a girl. I am talking to my supplier when I notice this girl keeps looking at me and smiling from the other side of the bar. I politely smile back and before you know it she walks over with her brother and asks to be introduced to me. It became clear the introduction would be difficult as she speaks no English and my Mandarin is limited to ‘hello’, ‘thank you’ and ‘beer please’. Well what else do I need?

I invited the girl to sit down but she declined and went back round the other side of the bar. Later (because I am not that quick, doh) I realised she went for the introduction because I was talking to another girl who could have been a threat. Anyway that’s all that happened.

Thursday I nearly fell off my bar stool. The girl arrived at the bar in an amazing black dress looking drop dead gorgeous and this was the first time I actually noticed that she was a) very pretty and b) a little young for me (26 years old as I found out later). She came straight over, plonked herself on the bar stool next to me and we started a conversation through the bar owner as an interpreter!! Now I am feeling pretty uncomfortable with visions of Gary Glitter going through my mind.

Fortunately that evening I was talking to a young good looking Canadian guy (careful, no jokes I told you it wasn’t a pick up bar) who was obviously attracted to this girl. So I make my excuses and head for the toilet on the way back making sure I stop for a conversation with someone else. The Canadian gives it his best shot and she blanks him, gets up off her bar stool and walks over to stand next to me. At the end of the evening she asks for a kiss goodnight. Just a peck the cheek mind you.

Friday night was my last night that trip. Same black dress same routine except the bar girls are heading off for Karaoke as a leaving party for one of them. My stalker goes with them. The bar owner tries to persuade me to go but I don’t like Karaoke and the girl was making me feel uncomfortable anyway. This apparently didn’t go down well as she was expecting me to turn up later. She got very upset.

In November my business trip was cancelled. I think no more of it. Shortly afterwards she starts emailing me having got my address from someone I do business with. The email traffic builds steadily and I agreed to take a holiday in Taiwan earlier this month. Despite feeling uncomfortable about the age difference I figure I did my best to put her off and show no interest and she is still pursuing me so what the hell go for it!!!

January. Eight fantastic days (and nights :Blush:) visiting Taipei, the mountains and the hot springs together. I am going back on business next month and have tacked another week of holiday onto it. I will be there for Valentine’s Day and her 27th Birthday (not that the extra year makes me feel any better about the age gap!!).

Life is pretty good………………….except that she wants me to meet her mother this trip. The warning signals in my head are starting to go off!!

Well I am too much of a gentleman to go into detail but it was quite strange compressing the beginning of a relationship into 8 nights. As we got to know each other during the day things changed................

Night one - pretty lingerie with what was probably kevlar body armour underneath. Kiss like a dead carp. Exclusion zone in the bed.

Night two - kevlar body armour removed. Dead fish showing signs of life. Exclusion zone maintained.

Night four - Wrapped around me like an octopus and sucking my face off. Still some exclusion zones in place.

Night five onwards use your imagination please ;)

Returned home yesterday after a marathon 2 1/2 weeks in Taiwan and a few days in Japan. had to extend my business trip while I was out there which was good as it gave me extra time with her.

The trip was fantastic and it seems my girlfriend would like to come to the UK on a try it and see basis with the view to staying permanently. I will go back and get her end of April :D

The age gap is 18 years :Blush2:

So how was Valentine's Day? Good trip?

It was a great trip as detailed in this message chain. Unfortunetly things went somewhat bottoms up over the last week via email. Turns out she also had a Taiwanese boyfriend (which I suspected anyway) and he found out about me and was none too pleased. Lots of nasty emails followed!

To add to the complications I was surprised during the trip by another girl I know out there who suddenly showed an interest in me out of the blue (this one is 27). Those events also came to light in the weekends email banter which of course didn't help much.

The outcome is that the original 26 year old is history and I will be visiting the 27 year old in May.

I have no idea how this has come about. Ten years of travelling to Taiwan with nothing happening then two young ladies in one visit. Must be the Lynx effect :beerchug:

I really don't know what has happened. Since I got back from my trip a 26 year old girl at the local pub has taken an interest in me and a very fit 45 year old. Neither are very suitable as the younger girl is a a bit overweight for me and the older one is the wife of a mean looking guy.

I must be doing something different this year though but I have no idea what it is. Chances are the chemisrty will disappear as quickly as it arrived and my love life will dry up completely :(
