Has anyone else had the embarresment of going away for only a weeks holiday only to find that your battery has gone flat.

This happened to both me in a new shape 55 plate Passat Sport Tdi and my sons 06 plate Golf GTtdi the same week.

VW have said that the battery will stay charged only for 1 week.

Hell why then do their cars on the forcourt start after weeks of standing.

My wifes car however started fine and showed no signs of power drop. This is also a diesel but of French manufacture.

left my 99 v6 passat for 3 week's while i was in cuba....started fist turn no probs at all........sound's like you have a currant drain somewhere......it only need's to be as little as 5amp's to drain it.......there was a feature in this month's "car mechanics" about it...
hope this is of some help

That hurts even more, as my car went in for a service and they then found 21 faults in the management system and all electrical related.

Waiting to hear outcome.

Not being too lazy to buy the magazine, but the car is still under warranty and it is is with the dealership today. They are supposed to be going over the problem and fingers crossed sorting it out.

Will post once we get the car back.

They have had it 3 days so far and are still puzzled.

Well its like this.

The ECU is spiking overnight so is to be replaced.

At least they have found a fault under warranty.

Lets see what happens when it is replaced.

Then I have to get my sons 06 plate Gold Gttdi in as it has the same fault.
