Hello all,
As the title suggests, I'm looking for reviews of the different A4's with in gear figures as opposed to the usual 0-60 and MPG.
Much prefer to be seeing 50-70 and such like t see the real world performance.

Anyone know where I can find any?

A passenger managed to record a 9.0 sec 60-100 time in my car - not a public road naturally. (2.0TFSi)

Only as accurate as the person timing it, but felt pretty quick all the same.

If you can pick up a back copy of what car?, they spec the individual gear mph times in their comparison review. Look for the edition where they say the 3 series is better because it is a better handling and more fuel efficient car, even though they admit that the A4 is cheaper, bigger, more kudos, better specced and doesn't look as though it is 7 years old.

I read the reviews but don't take any notice of the conclusion, it is very difficult to comapre cars when 98% of the magazine is given 4 out of 5.....:1zhelp:

Have a go on this site: http://www.zeperfs.com/en/perfs.php?Action=Fiche

It's a bit hit and miss on what data is available, and a sod to navigate (you have to select model then power) but does have some interesting information. The duel feature is fun too. Try starting here :) :

Just because I was curious.

With some help I can offer some non-scientific figures for the 2.0T

40-60 (4th) 6.0
50-70 (5th) 7.5
30-70 (2nd) 5.6 (supposed to be through the gears, but no traction in 1st)

I would be interested to see what the 170diesel and 3.0Tdi do these in

The gearing in these seems quite long and the step between 1st/2nd is huge.

6800rpm in 1st is 40mph
6800rpm in 2nd is 78mph
6800rpm in 3rd is 121Mph

The gearing would suggest that it will do 4th-160mph, 5th-200mph and 6th-240ish@6800rpm.

Figures for 3.0TDI, from the site I referenced in the previous post:

Max Speed : 250 Km/h
Km : 27.2 s.
0 to 40 : 1.3 s.
0 to 60 : 2.8 s.
0 to 80 : 4.6 s.
0 to 100 : 6.5 s.
0 to 120 : 8.5 s.
0 to 140 : 11.7 s.
0 to 160 : 15.3 s.
0 to 180 : 20 s.
80 to 120 min : 3.9 s.
80 to 120 in 4 : 5.3 s.
80 to 120 in 5 : 7.6 s.
80 to 120 in 6 : 10.5 s.
80 to 180 min : 15.4 s.
130 to 0 : 66 m.
Kph as default unit
Measures at real speed not at car's speedometer (implicate different results)

Ramon, are you sure you've done your sums right on the gearing? I thought the gears were long on the Volvo V50 I had before this and even that would only do 40/65/100 in 1/2/3 with the same limit of 6800 rpm.

Very sure about the speeds 1/2/3 - well only if you believe the digital readout (once again no public roads were involved)

4/5/6 I multiplied the speeds from 1000rpm - in 6th this is 35mph or 70mph@2000rpm.
