Some people have all the luck .... I have a warranty but as a condition of the cover I had to get a VW inspection done and any outstanding issues sorted at my own expense.
A/C repair due to failed high pressure sensor, brake pad warning (busted wiring harness). Total £693 ...... of which parts was £140 .... there is also still the matter of a busted cooling fan control module - and that is £470 just for the module ... (although I am hoping to ge tthe complete front off a car from Germany for £400 complete with midule, 2 fans, condenser rad for the AC and the standard radiator) and I'll pay myself the labour.
Not sure now the warranty was worth it since if the engine goes VW want £8200 for a replacement and they don't supply short motors or allow dealers to rebuild W8's - factory job only, a replacement box including labour is £3k more than the max limit of £2500 per claim.
