reverse light switch

put a new reverse light switch in,but now reverse light is on in any gear????? what have i done wrong.:confused:

either youve got a duff switch thats already broken, or youve over adjusted it. try taking it out and see if the lights are still on, with it connected.

If it's all gears (including reverse) and neutral then there's a problem that's causing the wire to short to earth all the time (chafed wire rubbing on the bodywork, pinch somewhere or a permanently faulty switch). If it's on in all gears except reverse then the switch is incorrectly working.

when i fitted it and put it in reverse it came on,put it in 1st it came on 2nd,3rd,4th.then it was difficult to select any gear for a while so i just unpluged the switch.and after a few miles gear selection got better.
