Hi. My '94 Audi 100 is suffering from rusty fuel pipes (the two which run
under the car between fuel tank and engine). Audi can supply the pipes for £155. The main cost is going to be the labour charge to fit them. Anyone ever done this or had it done. Just trying to get an idea of cost. What with the age of the car this could potentially be the end of the road for a faithful workhorse.

Thanks

Hi You can replace the pipes with plastic piping, this would probably be a lot cheaper,or iam sure you can buy copper piping by the meter. It is not all that big a job to replace them

you should be able to get the pipes made up somewhere out of copper tubing, like brake pipe, only fatter. this would work out much cheaper. alternatively use rubber fuel pipe. this wont cost much, and i would expect it to take no more than a couple of hours or so to replace the lot.you can cut the metal pipe and push rubber pipe over it and secure it with a jubilee clip.
dont you hate that. by the time youve typed out a reply, someone has beaten you to it.
