Rear Tail light on 2007 Estate

Tail light on the estate looks very similar to the saloon - does anyone know if they are the same ?

I need a replacement for my estate and there are plenty of saloons on e bay.

The bulb kit for estate and saloon on the Halfords site shows the same bulb kit with an HBU380 tail light in it so it would appear to be the same £2.49 bulb.
I happened to see your post whilst looking for a bulb for my sons car so I must stress I know nothing other than what this web site says !! Take a look

Presumably you're talking about the light unit as a complete part? My experience of these sort of saloon/estate cross-references leads me to suggest a visit to the dealer and get a comparison of part nos., then go to ebay if they're the same.

Or find a friendly Passat saloon owner and compare - can't remember if the nos. are stamped on the unit. Perhaps there's someone on here who lives close?

I own a saloon and my dad has the estate - from memory they are different slightly- i think the estate ones wrap around the body more?, as previously said it is deffo worth asking the dealer for product numbers.

Surely the tail/indicator lights are all LED and should not need replacement? It is only the high intensity rear fog lamp, and the reversing light in the centres of the 2 clusters which are conventional bulbs along with the number plate lights.

Sorry - I think there is confusion over this one! I was thinking that the thread was regarding a replacement cluster and not about bulbs, but if it is about bulbs then yes it is LED as you say.

This site would suggest that there are different part numbers for Estate and Saloon.
