This morning i went out side to start my car at 8.30, when i walked around the front to scrape the screen i noticed my headlight washers were sticking out about 10mm's! I then drove about 8 miles and parked, they were still the same! Then when i returned 4hrs later they were back to normal.
Now i guess this must be something to do with the temp, but yesterday i got up earlier and it was -5.5 and no probs!
Has anyone else had similar with theirs? p.s No i didn't pull the windscreen washer/headlight BTW.

How mush screen wash additive have you got in there? I'm wondering if it may have frozen and the pressure pushed the washers out (they spring out under the pump pressure normally). Later on they've defrosted and popped back in.
It might not have happened the previous day due to random fluctuations of temperature, additive strength, wind speed etc.

I'd guess at lack of fluid/additive as well. My system froze on a couple of occasions and it can get expensive -
the pipes from the bottom pump on my passat popped apart - front of car off to push them back together
on an earlier occasion the only reason I could find for the exploded headlamp washer pump was that it had frozen - almost had to take front of car off - the scars on my hands showed it was just about possible without !

Thanks guys, sounds like the most likely cause, i put more screen wash in and hasn't happened again, -7.5 this morning!
The only reason this happened in the 1st place is because i had a problem with screen wash smelling like cat ****, so i brought some lemon stuff from lidl's, obviously not very good anti freeze properties.

I get 5l of concentrated stuff from Makro for £3.99 plus vat and at the moment it is 2 for 1.
The Lidl stuff is a small bottle as I recall and the wife tried it once. You can't beat having a 30% odd solution at this time of year. Well in Scotland anyway - but it is reportedly warmer than the south at the moment !
