Bought myself a 2.0 (150) a4 on a 55reg 2 1/2 months ago. Its going on wednesday! A cracking car yes, however, the worst fuel economy Iv ever seen!! I reset the trip computer the day I got it, the average consumption has been 23.5 MPG:aargh4:

I just cant live with that so its going!! Annoyingly its depreciated 3grand since I bought it, but a little bit of eyelash fluttering to my dealer and shes done me a good deal!! Much better than I was expecting to be honest! So it goes on wednesday and Im getting....

1.9 TDi - Trip computer tells me its been averaging 56 MPG, muuuuch better! Plus its a manual too, was getting a bit sick of the DSG.

I like the colour more than the black, doesnt get as dirty, and Iv always thought black doesnt do the shape any justice, it makes the car look like a blob.Wereas 'dolphin grey' shows off the wonderfull lines!

I've never owned a diesel before, I've heard wonderfull stuff about this engine though! Can anyone shed any light on how wonderfull its likely to be?

Wonderful? Hmm maybe on fuel but the 1.9 isnt that quick. I'd have gone for the 2.0TDI personally. Nice looking motor though.

Going quick isnt top of my list (sadly). They had a few 2.0's but at 22, running them isnt cheap!

I believe the A4 TDI you are getting is the 115bhp version, the PD130 which so many people rave about isn't in that (B7?) shape.

But the 115 is more economical than the PD130, and with everything about running cars costing a fortune these days, its a good buy. :)

But this engine, as with every other Audi diesel, will run forever and a day if kept well. However I'm sure you know this already. :beerchug:

23.5 MPG from a 2.0!!

I get better economy from my 3.2 Boxster.

The TDi will be plenty economical and a better drive if you get it remapped. Won't hurt the economy muchand will increase the power by a fair bit.

mmm 1.9TDI Quartz Grey, my old avant's saloon twin :D

Yep you'll see a great improvement on the fuel economy and it isn't that slow compared to the 2.0TDI 140, I think 1 second difference on the 0-60.

Is the 2.0 really that bad- I heard it wasn't much cop from a few people, I'm getting 33-35 MPG on the current 2.0T running on Shell V-Power, very impressed in the 6 months I've owned her.

Yep,it really is that bad! To be 100% fair, most of my journeys are fairly short, but even when I took it to manchester it wasnt great on juice. I dont think the DSG box helps either though, I'll get a picture of the trip computer tomorrow before it goes.

And its getting remapped on valentines day, having to drive all the way to surrey for it (400 mile round trip) but its getting done none the less, cant wait to pick it up tomorrow!!!:D
