I washed the car for the first time in ages today and I haven't been able to get all the brake dust build up off my alloys, I have a few different cleaners but none seem to able to shift it.
Does anyone know a quality alloy cleaning product ?

I've always used Wonder Wheels; this stuff simply works. Just brush it on, leave for 5mins and agitate with brush again and it'll come straight off, just rinse it off after with a plenty of water. It's also a good idea to treat the alloys with a protector of some sort, usually a spray, this makes it harder for dirt to stick to the alloy.
I did hear recently though, that Wonder Wheels slowly removes the protective coating (enamel???) on alloys and so it's not so good. Any one heard this rumour?

this only happens if its an acid based liquid, only the cheap ones use acid now or at least thats what i remember

I use the one from Autoglym. Had my alloys a year and had to use the cleaner for the first time over xmas because of tar and brake dust build up. My experience is once you have used it, polish them afterwards but you will find you need to use it more often.

I use the autoglym, but make sure you dont leave the spray on for too long, otherwise the brake dust sticks like s*** to a blanket. Best to just work on one wheel at a time. If you do that it works brillantly.

I use the above when the wheels are clean and it seems to help keep the dust from sticking. It is not commonly stocked and so I buy it when I see it.
