Hi

I have an A6 '94 2.5 TDI it seems to take ages to get warm? If i run it on the motorway (75mph) It appears to not get warm at all - when I drive in town it shows the temperature getting warmer - could this be the temp gauge or a fault with a fan?

Any ideas greatly received

Cheers

HAVE YOU OPENED THE BONNET AFTER A RUN THE RAD SHOULD BE HOT TO THE TOUCH ABOUT 90 DEGRES JUST UNDER BOILING POINT THE FAN SHOULD NOT COME INTO OPPERATION UNTILL THIS TEMP IS EXCEDDED IF THE ENGINE IS STILL COOL AND THE FAN IS NOT WORKING ALMOST CERTAINLY IT IS THE THERMOSTAT THAT IS AT FAULT
