Well in a rush to find a parking space last night in the car park I join the list of B8 A4s that have been injured in action!!

Reversed into what I thought was a large space and kept reversing because the front was stuck out by a number of feet, then bang reversed into the protection barriers that stops you driving through the window of the car park. Turned out it was a space for motorbikes.........

Now have a scratch/line of marks along the bumper. Looked pretty bad in the lights of the carpark. Will take a proper look later when I can bring myself to go and take a look. Nuts

why oh why do I not have reversing sensors!!

I kerbed my front left wheel after only 5 days, i was gutted beyond belief.

I was travelling through north London following my sat nav and it was really chucking it down. went through one of those traffic calming measures and on coming out the other side i caught the kerb at about 3mph. nice scuff mark. Had it repaired via 'Shine'. Repair is good, however shame he over sprayed the dirt in the middle of the wheel.

I totally feel your pain and i bet you want to hit yourself around the head.

i have sensors and have still reversed into a wall.

I was chatting so turned my sensors off, forgot to turn them back on again and crunch.

I blame the technology (or absence of it) as i didnt look in any mirrors or over my shoulder. I just waited for the beeps. Complete lazyness I know, but im more like a victim of relying to much on the beep-beep-BEEP.

I curbed the rear right on day 1... :( Quite nasty too, then whilst extremely tired and grumpy (with one of the my junior guys in the car), went to park up, misjudged how close to the curb i was, and scrapped the front left wheel... Poor guy got his head bitten off when he said "i think you hit the curb..". Was sooo ****** off :(

Tagging onto this thread, what do people use to fix their alloy wheels?

I kerbed my front alloy after about a month in Birmingham, pulling in for the police to come past.

That's the last time I visit Birmingham!

I assume something can be done to make the damage less obvious, without replacing the wheel?

My Audi dealer suggested to Google "Alloy Wheel Refurbishment". :p

I went to halfords and they use a company called 'Shine' to come out and fix the damage wherever you want i.e work/home. the repair they carried out on mine was good and the colour match was excellent, as i said above, only problem was the fact that he got overspray on the inner of the wheel.

If you can point that out to the fitter before he starts so they avoid it they are well worth a repair.

Despite the cold, the car has been washed, sealed and waxed to within an inch of its life and the marks have been removed. No sign that i ever hit anything. Will pay more attention.

Its the time of year, everyone in a rush in town to get into those shops and fighting in the car parks.....

Glad to hear its good.

I try to steer clear of shopping centres unless i can get there early and get a good parking space. Too many people around who don't give a stuff and bang their doors on the side.
