I'd like a rear revsersing camera for my 05 A4 Avant Sline. I have RNS-E with a changer in the glove compartment.
I doubt I am able to fit such a thing. can anyone shed any light if this is a diy job, or anywhere that might be able to fit it for me? typical cost? thanks

Hi, thanks Issac, thats a little bit too complex for me I'm afraid. Really need someone here in the uk who could do it ideally. I really don't fancy messing up my car.

That is one seriously good write-up there!
I can't believe you didn't get more responses / thanks to that thread!
I see you also have retro-fitted auto-dimming mirrors, I would LOVE these - have you done a write-up for these too?

Hi Isaac,
I have been thinking of doing this and wondered how much the camera and handle cost from Audi?
Also, I know you used an IMA+ but what about the units from HK on Ebay? Would they work or am I better off with an IMA+? I only really want to add a reversing camera (for SWMBO) and ain't interested in a DVD / PC / Xbox installation...
Many Thanks!

I assume this would also be possible for a B6? Will the B7 handle assembly fit a B6 and are the Avant and Sedan handles compatible or different?
Nice guide!
This is ace! I wouldn't dare do it myself though. I am sure I could but its just a car you don't want to mess up  also I don't have the VAG stuff.
So what is the general cost of this then coz I would love this in my B7! Also does anywhere near London or anyone fit them?
Cheers

I only fitted dimming door mirrors, no write up but let me know if you need/want more info.

Parts from Audi were £160 ish I think. I couldnt say about the other units, The IMA+ is excellent though, I use mine for the camera and to feed a 320GB HDD into my RNS-E for MP3s and videos.

Parts are estimated above but check with Audi for exact current prices. I doubt you will find somewhere that does this job as the market for it will be quite small. Any auto-electrician should be able to do it. I certainly arent an expert by any means!!

If its the same as the saloon I guess it might fit, I have never seen a cabrio up close so I cant be sure. Check the part numbers with Audi.

This shows the connection for the OEM camera, I think its a type of FAKRA connector.
